Unfortunately, fleas have become extremely resistant to the most natural products. In addition to natural methods, there are likewise some extreme treatment methods to get rid of fleas by using chemical products for your carpeting. Spray the IGR. IGR is a Insect Growth Regulator like Nylar (pyriproxifen), Methoprene (FleaTrol and Precor) and Fenoxycard are some popular varieties. Spray your carpet with Nylar which reacts with the fleas hormone, breaking up the flea eggs that are hatching and saturates the immature fleas so they die before becoming adults. IGRs do not kill adult fleas.
Place a small plate containing dish washing soap or pet shampoo with water beneath a night light on your carpeting. The fleas will be draw in to the light and the aroma of the soap. They'll jump into the plate and be overwhelmed and will drown. You have to clean the plates every day and place one in all the rooms that have a flea problem.
Use Electronic Flea Killers. You can try using a electronic flea killer. You can get one from any decent pet shop. They work by using an electronic bulbs and sticky plastics tape to trap the fleas.
Vacuum the Carpet with Flea Powders. Use flea powders which contain special chemical substances for killing fleas, spread the powder all over the carpets and then vacuum the powder up a few hours later. If your pet sleeps outside, put some of the flea powder in its sleeping area.
You will be able to shampoo the carpet with insecticidal carpet shampoo. Steam your carpet with a steamer, or rip out the carpet and put linoleum on your floor instead and then you will have no more fleas.
Have a pest control professional apply an infrared heat treatment to the carpet, which kills all stages of fleas.
Use Limonene and Linalool. Citrus fruit peel extracts are among the safer treatments and insect killers. But you have to use limonene and linalool, in order that you are able to kill the fleas in all stages of growth. Make certain you select a product that contains both of them.
