The Proper Way to Do a Facial
When you do a facial at home you want to clean your face and exfoliate to get rid of dead skin cells leaving your face softer and renewed.
To clean your face use a pad with a facial skin care product designed for your skin type, which is either (oily, dry, normal, combination, sensitive or mature).
You will need to use an exfoliate that has a gritty texture and a rough pad to rid your face of dead skin cells. Make sure you stay away from your eyes because if the grit gets in your eyes it can scratch your cornea.
The next step is to stream your face. If you don't have a facial steamer you can use steamed towels or do what I did growing up boil water and put your head under a towel and there you have it a facial steamer.
Extracting Black heads or white heads with your fingers or other instruments can cause broken capillaries and discoloration, and using this method for pimples or blemishes can cause scarring. The best way to treat black heads and pimples is to use a facial mask that will peel off. Your mask should also designed for you skin type (oily, normal, dry combination, sensitive, or mature).
Now you are ready to apply a toner using a cotton ball, followed by a high quality facial cream or facial moisturizer designed for your skin type. You should use a light 15 SUV for day and a richer night cream.
Being a facial specialist and hair stylist I recommend doing a facial twice a week, and using your facial creams everyday for best results. You will notice a difference in your skin the first time you give yourself a facial. Your skin will be softer, smoother and younger looking because you will have new renewed skin.
